Hello. My optometrist always recommends me to get high index lens. Unfortunately I am a poor college student, so I always just end up getting polycarbonate lens since it is much more cheaper. I was wondering if high index lens are worth saving money for? Personally, I do not care about lens thickness and all my previous glasses had polycarbonate lens and I see fine with them (I am 21 now, been wearing glasses since I was 8).
I am willing to save some money in the next few months to purchase high index lens if they prevent my eyesight from getting any worse while I use my current glasses (from what I read, high index lens do not do this, but just wanted to make sure). Every year I get my eyes checked, the optometrist says my prescription has a big change, which worries me a bit. Is this normal for my age? I am wondering if there are any measures I can take to prevent my eyesight from getting worse.
Thank you all in advance! I put my prescription then and now if it is of any help.
