I wore contacts from age 8 through 21, I first noticed that the whites of my eyes were a sort of yellowish red at about 16. I asked my optometrist and he said it might be due to damage done by poor habits with my contacts when I was younger. I've worn glasses for years now and yet my scleras are still the same. Is there any treatment, be it surgery or medication, to permanently whiten the eyes? If nothing is approved yet is anyone aware of anything in the experimental stage? From the research I did people usually give answers like get plenty of sleep and eat fruits and vegetables lol. That's overall health/good eye hygiene but I want to know about treatment for people who already have damage whose eyes are always discolored.
