I'm 16 years old right now and my vision has always been bad ever since i was little. I've been wearing glasses and contacts since kindergarten and my vision has progressively gotten worse over time.
I went to the optometrist in the beginning of the year and he told me I was basically legally blind and how I might not be able to get lasik when i'm older. My prescription is -7 in my right and -8 in my left. Is this true?
My grandfather went blind (but to be fair he was pretty old when this happened) and my dads vision used to be fairly bad but he ended up getting lasik in his mid 20s.
Everything looks like blobs to me when I take off my glasses and I can barely see a persons facial features/expressions with my glasses off even if they're like 4 feet in front of me. I feel like it keeps on getting worse and worse with each day. I don't know if this is my imagination or if my eyesight is actually getting worse to the point where I literally will not be able to see anymore.
