For anyone knowledgeable, how does the disease actually start up in the eye. From what I’ve researched, the amoeba is present in most if not all contact lens cases to some degree and in pretty much all forms of water. So what is it/what are the risk factors that cause an infection to spring up in some people? I’ve heard about it growing between the contacts and the eye and I’ve also heard of a biofilm growing inside the contact lens cases. What are the steps that can be taken to prevent infection for non daily wearers?
