Hi guys, want to ask for opportunities to get a license to practice in the states.
Background: a BSc Optometry, taught with ophthalmic medication knowledge but can’t prescribe medicine. Knows how to do DFE with indirect ophthalmoscope. Currently practicing in hospital with main roles of specialty services (imaging, low vision, scleral lens fitting etc) and worked in retail settings before.
I believe if I want to practice in the states, I need to get an OD. However, is there shortcuts that I can take to skip those so called prereqs? In my city the education system is not like that in the states, we enter optometry school after high school.
Also, any tips to choose practice locations?
