Call For Posters Now Open – 4th World Congress of Optometry

(PRESS RELEASE) WCO informs you that the Program Committee is now accepting poster abstract submissions here for the 4th World Congress of Optometry, in collaboration with O=MEGA 23, to be held from September 8-10, 2023, in Melbourne, Australia! WCO encourages its WCO members to submit poster presentation proposals for our next World Congress by Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

WCO welcomes presentation proposals across a wide range of topics, including cutting-edge research, clinical care and optometric education. Proposals featuring multiple presenters, panel discussions, and/or interactive sessions are also welcome.

Some examples of appropriate presentation topics include:

  • Indigenous Eye Health
  • Professional Practice (ethics, communication skills and evidence into practice)
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Public Health
  • Systemic Disease
  • Anterior Eye and Oral Medication – Anterior Eye Therapeutic
  • Optometric Education

  • Dry Eye
  • Posterior Eye
  • Glaucoma/ Neuro
  • Contact Lenses
  • Paediatric Binocular
  • COVID & Eye Health
  • Primary Care/Professional Practice/General Optometry/Other
  • And any other topic

Poster Presentations

Poster presentations at O=MEGA/WCO4 provide a format for delivering a wide range of content (e.g. scientific, public health or education research findings, continuing education case reports, etc.). Posters will be on display all-day, with designated time provided where delegates can speak with the authors about their posters. Learn more here.

Poster abstracts can be up to 350 words. Scientific posters should provide a conventional structured abstract (Aim, Methods, Results, Conclusions), whereas other poster types may elect to use an unstructured abstract, if appropriate. In addition to your abstract, you will be required to provide three learning objectives, plus a curriculum vitae (CV) and a headshot for the presenting author, suitable for use in promotional material.

Please Note: The abstract submission deadline for full lectures and papers has now passed. The abstract submission window for poster presentations is open from January 16 to February 28.
