Hi everyone, So I've had a sizable 6ish months to say the least – 4 detached retinas in right eye. FYI – my prescription in my left eye is -16ish (one detached retina 8 years ago) and -12ish right eye before the 4 detached retinas. Two detachments were macular on detachments and were operated on fairly quickly and they used a gas bubble to hold the retina on, the 3rd/4th detachments were macular off and they used oil to hold the retina on, the last operation was 4ish months ago and they expect to take the oil out/fix the cataract in late Dec/early Jan. I've also had damage to my pupil muscles and can no longer focus up close – the pupil is massive….like I'm on drugs ha. I guess my question, how much sight would I expect to get back? At the moment I can see much at all but they said that's because of the cataract/oil in my eye. I've also got this black smug in my central vision that they are (Doctors) unsure what It is/if it will heal. My left eye is already not great so I'm reliant on my right eye for 'seeing' and quality of life. Career wise I do alot of computer work/driving/meetings and am concerned my career is over in that field – finance. Would I go from a -12 to say a -15/-16? The Doctors are fairly vague and don't offer an opinion, they say 'see what happens'. one Doc did say he thought my sight would reduce to my left eyes vision if not worse…. Any thoughts would be great, I'm fully expecting to loose my drivers license and career so go your hardest!
