Hi all. I am a student who did a lot of close-up work (8 hours on a 34-inch monitor) for the last 2 months and thus, have developed mild myopia (-0.75). Before my eye test in March, I always had 20/20 and now I'm hovering between 20/25 and 20/30. Since no one in my family has a history of myopia and my vision was perfectly normal just 3 months back, I am convinced that I have “pseudomyopia.” Even though my doctor prescribed me minus lenses, I never wear them since I know my eyesight may become dependent on them and potentially develop into true myopia. My question is: How can I fix my pseudomyopia? I am overall spending less time on the computer, practicing the 20-20-20 rule, and spending more time outdoors. In general, I notice that my outdoor vision in sunlight is essentially perfect (I can see objects from miles away play sports), but in low light/night, there are noticeable differences and bright lights have small lines coming out of them. Would wearing low readers ( 0.50 or 1.00) be helpful? Also, how long does pseudomyopia last or take to fix? Any guidance or advice would be much appreciated.
