Partner has high myopia and we want kids

Hey everyone,

My partner has had lens implants because he was born with high myopia (it stabilised at around 17 years old, at -20/-18). He has also had astigmatism and a squint, which were treated surgically.

We dream of having a big family, but we are scared that our kids might have the same problem. He had a great grandparent that also had high myopia, but we don't have many details on that. On my side there are no known issues.

Has anyone here with severe myopia had kids? Did your kids get myopia? Do you know how often it happens?
