Could I use both contact lenses AND glasses to get better vision?

I have High Myopia with a power of around -24 and I wear contact lenses with a power of -18 (Left) /-19 (right). When I'm not wearing my contact lenses, I wear glasses with a power of -15.

Obviously, wearing both of these together just results in a blurry mess.

But, would I see any better if I wear glasses with a smaller power (e.g. -3 or -4) over my current contact lenses.

I'm sure there is a reason why none of my ophthalmologists have ever suggested this. Could this worsen my myopia or would I not see the benefits that I am expecting?
