Sorry for all the questions but please can someone explain these terms to a very confused short sighted person with health anxiety. The information online is confusing and no optician ever warned me about the risks of short sightedness so it was a massive shock when I found out 10 months ago.
Are progressive, pathological and degenerative myopia the same thing?
What’s the difference between degenerative myopia and myopic macular degeneration?
I have -6.5/-7 correction, it’s been changing from -0.25 to -0.5 per year and I’m 26. My last eye exam confirmed no pathological changes at this time. Does this mean I’m unlikely to have pathological myopia or could it progress into pathological myopia at some point?
How risky is pathological myopia were I or someone to have it, do people always get severe problems?
